The Creative Source Library at Kulturni Centar Grad in Belgrade

The main goal of the Creative Source project was to establish a platform for public discussions and a source of qualitative cultural information accessible for young people in Serbia. Cultural events and a physical library function as a source of creativity, and make people participants of a cultural community.

Creative Source project was initiated by Aleksandra Stratimirovic, Sandra Praun, Nino Strohecker and Erik Jennische. They helped Kulturni Center Grad in Belgrade to begin setting-up a creative and unique meeting point and source of knowledge and inspiration, visions and long-term creative training.

During 2010 more than 500 books were donated to the library by Swedish cultural institutions, galleries, artists, writers, designers, architects, photographers. All books were stamped and signed by each donor. We produced a small booklet that each donor got as a symbolic swap.

In June 2010 the books were presented at my studio before sending them off to Belgrade.
In October 2010 the library was officially opened by the Swedish cultural attaché Helene Larsson in the presence of Serbian national tv.
Since then the library has constantly been growing.
